The benefits of talking
I think that when children talk, they are learning. There are different types of learning that can be done in the classroom. Small group discussions, large group discussions, answering questions, etc. I think that the teacher needs to be able to control the noise level so that it's not too loud, by using different techniques like keeping groups between 3-4 people, making sure the students know how to focus on what they need to be doing, setting a time limit with an egg timer. The children definitely need time to talk, share and discuss. Is a vital key that really does help them learn even more from their peers as well as the teacher. It is important though, to make sure they stay on point, otherwise it will get louder and they wont be focused on what they need to be doing. I myself have seen very creative ways to get students to talk. Ask engaging questions that make them excited and want to answer, give good and fun topics, not just basic boring ones, basically make it fun and they'll want to e included and want to actively participate.
